Hello hosts,Just a quick question. I've had a guest request a tax invoice for business purposes to on-charge his client. Th...
We booked a stay in the Boston area and the host had to cancel a day before. That amount was refunded. In my messaging with Airbnb, they promised to refund me the difference between the amount I ended up having to pay for another place. They reneged on that promise and would refund nothing, only give me a coupon on a future stay for much less than I was promised. I offered them the option of refunding me half of the difference I had to pay or giving me a coupon for the entire difference, but they provided neither. If have gone back and forth with them for 6 weeks and it appears the only solution is legal action. I have all the message exchanges including where they promised to refund the difference between the canceled stay and the replacement.
How do I go about filing suit? Is there a reputable firm that does this?
So sorry to hear that happened @Laura6896!
Were you able to get this worked out with support?
No, they were completely useless. I am going to have to sue, but I need to find an attorney who has taken them on before. I probably had 10 different support people all with the same lines. Sincerely apologizing for my inconvenience, and then not able to deliver what was promised.
$417.45
You are going to employ an attorney to recover just over 400 dollars ? @Laura6896
do you not have a small claims court you can take your claim to?
That is where I have to take it. I spent way too much time trying to reason with them. I'd rather have an attorney deal with it, but I will have more time over the holiday break to handle it myself. And yes, I lost over $400 because they said they would refund me. I will pursue it however long it takes. After promising me the refund, now they say all they can do is $150 off a future stay, like I would ever use them again after this.
