Hi Karen, welcome to hosting with Airbnb. As you are new to the platform lets walk through this step by step in simple form.
What I am describing here is the listing from a computer, not the phone App.
1/.......Log onto your listing and from the toolbar at the top of the screen select 'Calendar'.
2/......Select the month you wish to block a date/dates. If you have some existing bookings in that month your calendar will look like this........
Notice that any nights previously blocked for something other than an Airbnb booking will show as a grey field with a line through the date indicating currently not available.. Any dates still available for booking will show the nightly tariff rate.
If I only wanted to block one evening, let's say the 14th, just click on that date, it will turn black and an option box will appear.
From that option box click the X and in that box it will say, 'Blocked by you' and you will be prompted to write a note stating why you blocked that date as a future reminder.
3/.......Maybe I want to block a number of nights for that month, start with the 14th and continue to tap each date you want to block and when you are satisfied you are blocking the correct nights, once again click the X and the option box will now display.....
Once again add a note to indicate why the nights are blocked and to exit the calendar editing page click the X in the black circle next to the box indicating the number of nights blocked.
There are programs within the Airbnb system that can assist in calendar date management but what I have described here is in it's simplest form. Hope it helps Karen.
Cheers......Rob.
Hello @Karen4835
You have just listed your property I think but it is now live and people can book so try again today and you should be able to block dates on your calendar now.
If you're still experiencing problems, come back and include a screenshot of the issue
Best of luck
Joëlle
Hi @Karen4835,
Have you been able to update your calendar now?
Emiel and Joelle have shared some guidance, but if you need more help please let us know. 🙂
Thanks,
Emilie
