While I am sure many are happy about categories being removed categories helped me in planning what parts of the world I wanted to travel to and experience.  I confess, I normally am short on funds but I was finally able to pull together enough funds to go and went to check and the categories were no more.  I was hoping to stay within a few states with a few options in the categories but now I confess am unsure.  I understand the removal but also wish there was a way that some of that legacy info was still available for those that did use it. Perhaps it doesn't have to be main screen, but maybe somewhere included in searching.

thank you for sharing your feedback with us on the Categories. Airbnb has changed the homepage to make Experiences and Services available right upfront in the Airbnb app, and this new look enables the app to be more personalized for users -the search filter now suggest homes, experiences and services nearby, in a destination that you’re booked to go to next.

Guests are still able to use filters to search for homes with specific amenities including pools, a waterfront location or accessibility features. If you think certain filters would be valuable to add, such a type of property you find useful to target in your travels, you can let the team know directly using our feedback form: https://www.airbnb.com/help/feedback
