Confirming Names of guests staying

Our local towns bye-law, along with many other towns I suspect,  specify that we must have the names of all guests staying at our STR.   Isn't it about time Airbnb makes it compulsory that all guests' first names at least should be listed when booking? Because guests often ignore my request for the names of all guests after booking,  I  now have to request this before accepting bookings which is inconvenient for both hosts and guests.  I believe it would also deter travellers' deliberately booking  for 2 knowing that others will join them, to avoid paying extra guest fees. Airbnb should also make sure that every guest receive the house rules of the property too.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Hi Gillian120,

Boy did you hit a nerve with me.

I actually gave up. Even though I have clearly stated on my account that I wanted name of all guests (yes you can do this with n the app) I rarely, if ever get their names beside the one booking. I even reached out first to AirBnB and then to the guests to no avail.

You would think if AirBnB is so concerned about the guests they would give the same consideration to the hosts.

My solution  was to finally place an outside camera pointed at the front-walk way and entry door so that I can count/see who is actually coming in.

With all that being said the # of guests supplied at booking has been about 90% correct but it is still very irritating that now, I sometimes only get the initials of who is booking and not their full picture until they actually book! Not sure if this is a glitch or what.

I do not have an extra guest few with the exception of the 5th guest who could sleep on a couch, ironically all my guests have been truthful with that.

I will be interested to see what the other hosts comments are.

Good luck!
