We've been leaving a small 250ml carton of cream in the fridge for coffee and tea. About half the guests don't use, and over the winter we have low turn over so it ends up going to waste.
I'm thinking of putting some cream in a reusable glass jar, but am worried people might think it's left over or not sanitary. Thoughts?
Are you able to source long life milk? It doesn't have to be refrigerated until opened and you can get it in little 200ml boxes. It's real milk, just pasteurised at a higher temp. I'm in Australia and that's what I use.
We began using individual creamer packets (liquid in cups) that don't require refrigeration (but they do have expiration dates). That has served us pretty well and we don't have to worry about contamination between guests. You could also provide dry creamer. Not as tasty but for a guest, it's more than enough.
