I am very concerned that Airbnb are retiring their Email Alias function in September. To comply with current and new legislation in Scotland we have to provide a considerable amount of information to guests, which we currently do for bookings from all platforms (not just Airbnb) by attaching appropriate documents to email messages. These documents are in formats not compatible with Airbnb messaging, so we cannot use such. Does anybody else have an issue with the retirement of this function?

AirBnB support asked I share my thoughts on the change using their feedback form on this page:
https://www.airbnb.com/help/feedback
Perhaps if they get a lot of opposition to the change they will re-think it?
I send a PDF property guide to guests by email about two weeks before their check-in date with directions, self check-in information and other relevant details. In this email I request that the email be forwarded to the other guests in the group so that everybody is familiar with the check-in process.
Sharing the property guide with co-guests is not going to be an option if the email alias is removed and I will be completely dependent on the person who made the booked to provide the entire information to all their co-guests. In my experience this is rarely the case and I have even received calls from guests who were stuck outside the property as their own parents who made the booking had not shared the lockbox code with them.
Really bad idea to remove the email alias and I find it ironic that while stating their messaging app is the core place for communication AirBnB still supplement all their reminders and communications to hosts with an email.
I am personally fine with that.
What I do is add any file (such as pdf, etc...)to external storage (such as Google Drive)and then send the link to that in a message!
Hi Folks, I've currently been using the alias e-mail address for sending our rental agreement to guests through the adobe e-sign platform, and also for sending our welcome letter/guest info packet. For the welcome letter, I can probably start doing that through a link to a google drive or something similar. But, for the rental agreement, I'm struggling to find a platform that can send a rental agreement to someone without an e-mail address.
Does anyone know of a docusign/esign platform that does not require an e-mail address to send to guests? Currently my workflow is a multistep process where I fill in a couple of fields, then it goes to them to fill in and sign, then back to me for final signature. I'd hope there is a software platform that can do this just through a link I can send them in Airbnb, but I haven't found one yet. Any tips out there?
Thank you!
It seems that the email function has been removed, this really is poor from Airbnb as I would send a very detailed PDF which was a welcome pack, house manual and guide to the area.
Airbnb need to create the function to attach PDF documents to ensure guests have the full information on hand.
