For each damage they have a weird excuse

We have been hosting a couple.

when they arrived everything was in perfect condition.

They are Not friendly, very demanding and in a week they wroke three items already!!!

1.handle of the water heater machine.
2. Suddenly a big hole in the Anti mosquito net of the window

3. They broke the  parasol of the pool

They never offer to replace it. They just send a weird story of how it broke.

for example:

The hole in the anti mosquito net on the window they say was made by a mouse.

wich is weird because non of our previous guests have ever complained about mouses, we live on the property and never have problem with mouses.

even if it was a mouse why would a mouse make such a huge hole on that height of the window?

i am sure they will not pay the damages they caused.

how can we deal with this situation?

@Valerie1170 these things are obviously happening Valerie but keep all messaging on the app if possible and remind the guests that they may be responsible for damages. Could it have been a mouse Valerie. ?I am not au fait with mice eating fly screens but it could happen .It looks very odd.Can the handle be replaced easily , is it just because it was loose or snapped. Many guests do many things , sometimes we are handy enough to fix them ourselves and not worry as it is wear and tear and maintenance. Often those fly screens simply peel out and are easily replaced with nylon mesh bought by the metre at the local hardware.Good Luck ... H

also that screen does look like it was done from the outside. I would be concerned because mice dont have hands... H

Hi @Valerie1170

I'm really sorry to hear about this!

As @Helen744 mentions, it's best to keep any discussions about the damages on the Airbnb app.

You might find this article handy in helping you handle reimbursement for the damages.

Afraid I'm not sure what you can do, especially because you can't really prove it wasn't a mouse.

I can commiserate though, Valerie. We've had our share of guest damage we've had to wear!
