GUEST IDENTIFY VERIFICATION

Anyone else considered about the little disclaimer that Airbnb has on guest profiles stating that literally that the identity of the person may not match the person actually staying at the booking? I think us is host need to raise a major concern about this and the Airbnb needs to have an additional fee for guests to pay so that they have to do a facial scan match the ID I've actually had many book at my place that they don't even have a picture of themselves on there it's some random picture of a fire or a globe or a picture of them skiing or someone skiing which is not protecting us in any sort of the manner and considering the amount of identity fraud this means Airbnb is doing zero to protect us when it comes to the identity of who is booking and staying at our places if their profile picture doesn't even have to match anything it just has to be a picture. These are also all of the guests who I've got less than five star ratings from every single guest that has a clear concise picture of their face with their account has given me a five-star rating every guest that has a photo of something besides their face or like I said before somebody skiing which could be anybody has given me less than a five-star rating and made false accusations to issues that they had from checking in when they had zero issues checking in all the way to even stealing items like remotes and wash clothes... anybody else seen this trend?

This disclaimer by AirBnb does not instil confidence in the verification process for me. We rely heavily on reviews from other hosts, what else do we have?

NOTE

Someone being “Identity verified,” or having an identity verification badge, only means that they have provided info in order to complete our identity verification process. This process has safeguards, but is not a guarantee that someone is who they claim to be.

Hi @Dustin222 ,

Welcome to the Airbnb Community Center and thank you for sharing your concerns.

I also wanted to share an article that outlines how Airbnb verifies guest identity. I hope it helps you to explore the identity verification process.

ya they used to have this Disclamer and since I reached out to they about this issues and informed them it would not hold up in court to have a disclamer like this .... is suddenly is gone and more extensive . I am not sure i belive they  thake these steps  they are now claiming to take but I will do my due diligence to ensure that they are or hold them legally liable
