Guest received an email with my private note to myself

I just learned that a note I thought I was writing to myself (the kind where the guest isn't going to see it) ended up being sent in an email to a guest. Needless to say, this was not ideal. As the note was intended only for me, the tone is curt and brusque, and I referred to the guest as "needy". Nobody likes seeing that written about them!

How did this happen? I can't even find any private notes on this guest. I've been searching all over my hosting dashboard and can't find anything. Can someone give me some advice here? I want to make sure that this private note doesn't show up on the guest's profile. At the moment, it looks like all you can see is my favorable, 5-star review of the guest. But I want to be sure. Also, I'm confused!

I can not remember there is a feature where you can write notes about a guests, which are not being sent to the guest. On the multicalender you can write notes on a selected time period (can also be reservations), but they are saved for own purpose and not sent.

Did you write a review and then also wrote a private message (which is sent to the guest, but not published on the profile) ? Or did you write a comment on a review (which is published) ?

Comments are in section reviews: http://www.airbnb.com/users/reviews

I wonder if I completely misread the "private note" concept and thought it was only going to stay in my records. And lo and behold, the guest received a note she never should have seen! I'm doing damage control. In the note I referred to her as needy, and I made a note to myself (well, to her, it turns out) that she wanted to have a gathering with 30 people at the house even though the listing prohibits "events".

Thank you for replying. I think I'm realizing I misread a function for what it isn't at all!
