Guests not leaving a review

We are noticing lately some of our guests are not taking the time to review their stay.  In our final communication with the guest as they are checking out, we request that they review the stay.  We are host that will take someone that is new to the AirBnB family that does not have a review and give them a chance.  Is anyone else seeing guest not taking the time to review their stay?

Yes, but I stopped caring about it. The Airbnb system sends several auto-reminders to the guests. If they still don't leave a review - let it go.

No one guarantees a good review after strong reminding.

@Anne-and-Glenn1  The AirBnB online review process on the guest side is very time consuming -- it consists of multiple pages of questions.  I am not at all surprised that many of my guests will forgo the process and will just leave a nice handwritten note in my cabin guest book.

@Cheri354 This is a good question and I bet you'll get mixed answers 🙂 Of course as good hosts, we all would appreciate a nice review for every 'stay'. However, there are some folks that just don't like dealing with review systems. There is an auto-nudge to leave a review so for a host to add another request, it might lead a nagged guest to leave a not-so-welcome statement.

~ Consider; guests may be staying away from family (but don't want them to hear about it) or near friends (but don't want to announce their stay). Protecting their privacy is important to them.

~ Maybe the trip is uncomfortable or sad (staying near a hospital for a medical procedure or attending a funeral).

~ Not everyone has funds to travel often and the myriad of details to attend to can be overwhelming !

~ Maybe their trip was a honeymoon or the first trip without kids along which means doting exclusively on each other 🙂 ..which really has nothing to do with a host or their home..

~ Some are unfamiliar with the rating system or not computer-savvy. Computer-friendly folks are already asked to review every online purchase, query, and new visit to sites..why add more to that ?

Sometimes, less is more. It's not meant to be a competition (well, unless one personally takes it as such !). Enjoy the ones who do respond 🙂
