Hi. we have had guest requests to stay but also to work from there room. So they use WiFi .heating cooking ect for 24 hour a day.for there entire stay. Surly they have only paid for the bnb. Not a office.
General guests go out for the day. Any recommendations how to handle this .or am I being a bad host.??
You are providing a service and amenities. These are valid 24 hours per day during the contract time of the reservation. If you don't want guests using your Airbnb as an office, then remove the workspace from your amenities, if it is set up.
@Kevin2126 As a host, it’s important to set (and communicate well) expectations and boundaries before accepting a booking. Set your listing up to be clear as to what the guest is booking, and paying for. If you haven’t done that, then you can’t fault a guest for doing whatever suits them. For now, if you are currently dealing with this situation, with a guest already in residence, you’ll have to just manage it as gracefully as you can until they leave.
In my view, it’s best to outline a fair usage system, my Wi-Fi contract is fair usage so if it’s exceeded then I am required to pay extra. I’m going to place a Rule that outlines same, some guests can claim allowances for working from home
