Help with extending stay

I am currently staying in an airbnb. The host is willing to extend my stay but I am wondering if I can pay for the extention at check out. I am in a crisis and lost my housing due to hurricane milton. I do not get paid for a couple of days and I have nowhere else to go with my kids. Please help. I am willing to pay extra charges.

First, I'm so sorry you are in this situation as a result of the hurricane.

Airbnb controls all payments and when they are collected, not the Host, so even if the Host was willing to delay payment, they aren't permitted to.  You can check with your Host and see if they will allow you to extend for a few days until you are paid, then process another extension for however long you need. The Host would have to block those days for you though, so no one else books them (if they are willing to do that).

The best way to tackle this to pay on your credit card/ask family /friends to lend you the money. Or ask your job to pay you a couple of days early .

It wouldn't be fair to ask the host to underwrite the cost of extending your stay as there would be no guarantee you would pay and they could be left out of pocket. 

is your home insurance not covering the cost of your stay @Ryan4024
