How many times do you allow a guest to change the dates of the booking ?

Hi guys I’ve had a guest ask to change their reservation dates 3 times.

1st time was due to unforeseen circumstances  and they booked for next year. Second time they wanted to bring it sooner and in December. And third time because a family cannot get the time off work.

I’ve suggested as this is the 3rd time I would not be able to accommodate. But the guest is not happy.

Are there any recommendations?

Suggestion - they should cancel, and re-reserve when they can actually come. As this is going, they are tying up your calendar and theirs. Perhaps they might make their reservation not so long in advance.

@Rohannah0. You are far more patient than me. One bite of the rescheduled cherry and that would be it for me. I would not allow them to reschedule a fourth time!. Just ignore their requests.

Unless you have been able to fill this booking each time you are just losing time, money and sanity.

Dont forget the 80/20 rule when it comes to guests 😉

Hello @Rohannah0

You are clearly a very kind and accommodating host, that's wonderful of you. 😊 @Frances3408 and @Kitty-and-Creek0 have shared some suggestions on how they would approach this situation, what do you think of them?

It would be great to hear what you decide to do in the end, and how it unfolds with the guest. 🌟

You have been more then patient I would never have agreed to amend the booking date once let alone three times @Rohannah0

Just explain to the guests that you are under no obligation to accept their requests to change booking dates .

That you have been more than flexible in already changing the booking dates twice .

That it was up to them to ensure family can get time off work before asking to transfer to new booking dates and that you won't be accepting any further requests to move the booking dates .

by the way what cancellation policy do you have ?
