How to deal with damage when the guest states they didn't break anything?

Hello!

I recently hosted some lovely guests at my apartment in London. The bathroom is shared and I noticed that on the second day of their stay that the shower cradle was cracked. They had taken a shower the evening before and I know that it I did not break it. When I queried it they said that it wasn't them who broke it. Whilst appearing genuine, I knew that they had as it was fine before they arrived. I let it go as it was minimal but I wondered whether anyone has had this situation before? How can you 'prove' damage caused by guests when they deny it? I am also mindful of creating unecessary bad feeling when they're staying in my home...

Thanks

All you can do is state what happened, provide what evidence you can of the damage, submit your claim, get a quote for replacement/repairs and if the guest denies it Airbnb will arbitrate and decide.

Do have a look at the information on Airbnb help about making a claim for guest damage @Anthea46
