I Need some Help? 4th Booking Blocked by AirBnb.

So AirBnb has Blocked yet another booking.  I called for help. **. ( my Business Partner and I, kinda roll our eyes because we know exactly where this is going which is nowhere!!)

Says that she will look into it...  I get a text back 5 min later.

"**"

First:  I'm the Host not the guest.

Second: this is obviously a very boiler plate saved response and it's obviously nothing was looked into.

Third: Thanksgiving is coming so I assume that they want the house to have family and friends over to eat.

This house has 2 Kitchens 2 Ovens 2 Dining rooms, Large yard and lots of parking.

I can keep going, But I've screened the guest and she wants to have family over for 🦃 Thanksgiving I don't see why this reservation is blocked.

This support is like talking to a Brick 🧱 Wall.

Someone from Airbnb please contact me in regards to this reservation.  So that I can have the Blocked Days, Unblocked.

Looking at it from Airbnb's point of view, but when your emphasis was that it is a house that "has 2 Kitchens 2 Ovens 2 Dining rooms, Large yard and lots of parking", it suggests is accomodating a large day gathering. An event.

Airbnb is not in the catering or restaurant event business, but lodging business. No wonder they in turn are very nervous, they should be. You have screened the guest, but they are considering the high probability that this cozy 'family Thanksgiving' gathering could turn into a royal chaotic mess in a jiffy depending on who is invited, with bad publicity for them written all over it.

Actually your 16 guests / 6 bedrooms / 4 baths listing in a 'tight' neighborhood probably had them pre-nervous.

As you should be aware Airbnb operate an anti-party policy so if you have those who are new to Airbnb trying to book a large property for a major holidays, it's likely they won't be allowed.

Rather than 'rolling your eyes' with your partner,  perhaps familiarise yourself with Airbnb's policies before using the platform to promote your STR business. https://www.airbnb.co.uk/help/article/3345

If you allow your guests to invite family and friends over to celebrate major holidays you certain risk your place being used as a party spot.  And Airbnb are likely to shutdown your listing.

If you want your place to be used as a party spot you are better off listing on other platforms.

If you decide to stay on Airbnb then do look at the areas which are leading to what Airbnb consider very low reviews. And I would suggest you temper your responses to guests who have raised issues with you about their stays. I certainly wouldn't stay with you after reading your responses.
