Had another person using my room fell twice was left in floor. Host did not call an ambulance. The other person in the room did go get host telling her I hit my head hard. I was neglected left in floor. I had to call ambulance once I found my phone all my stuff gone through credit cards missed fraudulent charges. Money taken over 500 in cash. Airbnb keeps dragging this out
@Patty305 Can you explain this more clearly? Who was in the room with you? Were you sharing this room with another guest unrelated to you? You think this other person stole your money and credit cards while you were incapacitated?
You fell twice? Is this an ongoing medical issue where you lose your balance or did you trip or what?
It's certainly terrible that two people knew you were on the floor injured and didn't call 911, but what resolution are you looking for from Airbnb, exactly?
Airbnb is supposed to intervene if the host does not respond. I’ve been told my case has been escalated. The pictures I submitted I noticed can’t be seen now.
The lady doesn’t own the property. She did not follow any Covid regulations.
I was neglected. I want Airbnb to at least return a full refund. I’ve accessed police lawyer. Turned her in for impersonating a nurse because she was caring for 3 individuals and she talked extensively about PHI which is against the law and I left the room. So I don’t know who possibly could be in harm because she said she only cared for dementia and Alzheimer’s and her boyfriends father that she mentioned all she had to do was sleep.
She’s been turned in to Medicare and Medicaid. I did my own background check and found out about the aliases, property owner, etc.
I don’t want to cause any problems because I’ve stayed at amazing Airbnb hosts homes or rooms etc and everything was always as advertised and the hosts were amazing.
I don’t want to ruin it for the hosts that work so hard to provide amazing places to stay. That’s why I’m holding off before getting any lawyer’s involved. The host shouldn’t be allowed to host until a full investigation by Airbnb.
@Ute42 Nope, has nothing to do with English not being your first language. It's quite disjoined and incomprehensible.
@Patty305 I think we are all struggling to understand what happened exactly. To make our answers more applicable to your situation could you please clarify a few things?
-Was it YOU that fell? Or another guest? Or both?
-Were you staying as a guest in someone's Airbnb rental?
-Who stole from you? The host or another guest?
After looking at your profile it appears you stayed with a host who rents a rooms in her home. From my understanding you fell and no one provided assistance. Did you fall because of a fault in the home (bad flooring, etc) or just by pure accident? This is going to make a difference in whether the host will hold any accountability in the situation. I am sorry no one assisted you when you fell and that you had to call for help when you were already distressed, however I am not sure what airbnb would be able to do in this case.
As for your things being stolen, as asked above, was it the host? A guest? Or you are not even sure? In this case you can report it to airbnb as you already did. You also have the option to file a police report.
As for the people the host is caring for, or her fake RN credentials, this has nothing to do with airbnb. If you feel people are being neglected you can report it to other outlets outside of this platform. Digging into the host's background and trying to use it as leverage to further your complaint is probably not the best route to go.
Just be patient and wait for a response from airbnb. Myself and many others have noticed that things have been a lot slower and somewhat lacking as far as customer service goes, but if they say they have escalated your case, they likely have.
@Ute42 @Branka-and-Silvia0 like @Sarah977 English is my first language and I don't understand any of this. Poor girl. Maybe she thought she was going to a group home where she would be cared for? I didn't know Airbnb offered things like that.
@Ann72 @Sarah977 @Ute42 I looked at Patty's profile and she has 10 excellent reviews as a guest... except one.
The host who left a negative review has just 2 reviews - one is from Patty and it brings some clarity to her post.
It seems the room was rented to another person at the same time when she was staying there and that person was the man she mentioned. (The room has just one bed and it is listed for just one person.) So, it seems the man surprised Patty, start yelling at her and somehow she fell on the floor. The man then went to tell the host to call the ambulance but the host didn't. In the end, Patty called the ambulance by herself and went to the hospital. While she was in the hospital her belongings were stolen. At least that's how I understood the story.
@Branka-and-Silvia0 Thank you for clarifying. Wow, that's a terrible story on every level. The host has a young woman in a room and rents it out to a man? And the host is still on the platform? Uuuggghhhhh I can't.
@Ann72 same room same bed for 2 people who work in opposite shifts. crazy plan isn't it?
This is how rumors start ..... 🙂
