Minut Detector

Have any other hosts used evidence from a Minut detector in an Airbnb Support case?

For those who are not familiar with Minut, it monitors noise, occupancy, motion and temperature in an indoor place. You can take screenshots of the data and send it to Airbnb as evidence of noise levels, temperature, parties etc in your place.

Interested to get other hosts thoughts on this.

I installed a unit but haven't had any problems with parties yet. good luck

Hello Lance, my name is Solvita & I’m a  host on the Florida. Local government asked me to get a noise detector connected to the app with 180 min recording info. I would be appreciated if you recommended me which one you have. I got  one on the Amazon & another on the Walmart but they didn’t accept all of those. Thank you! Solvita

@Adrian2520 I don't have any first hand experience with these monitors, but I'd expect them to be more useful as prevention than as evidence. If they send you an alert about a possible party fast enough that you can get over there and shut it down, they can spare you from a lot of costly damage and community disruption. But remote hosts looking for Airbnb to intervene on their behalf in these situations have usually been met with silence.

I don't know one way or other whether the data would influence a damage claim or a review challenge. But if you read between the lines of Airbnb's party policy, it's generally more punitive to hosts who fail to prevent them than to the guests who violate their rules.
