Dear Community
I’m new to this platform and wanted to ask your advice
I have a UK company that rents villas, mostly in Sardinia, Italy
I have published a couple of properties on Airbnb, to target a certain market
My clients pay in euros, and in UK, I have a bank account with GBP Sterling, Euros, and US dollars
I don’t have the option to be paid in euros unless I register with Payoneer
If not, I could ask for payment in GBP sterling, then convert to euros to pay the owners
Which would you recommend?
I haven’t been able to contact customer support at Payoneer to ask about fees
Your advice would be hugely appreciated
Thank you
Rebecca
Maybe I've missed something. You can't be paid in euros? Why not?
Hi Elaine
Thanks for this
I have a UK company, and the only payment options Airbnb gives is in GBP
To be paid in euros, I have to do it via Payoneer, but I’d really rather not
Alternatively, I can be paid in GBP then pay owners in euros, but the exchange will mean I lose out
Thanks for any advice
Rebecca
Oh, well, in my listing setup, I have a choice of Euros, USD, or GPB. Airbnb may offer different choices in different parts of the world. Still, I can't understand why they would limit it to GBP in British accounts, since the Euro and USD are much more common currencies, and at least in our case, most guests come from either Europe or North America anyway. But perhaps it's something in British law that requires all transactions in GBP.
I hope you can sort it without too much pain.
Dear Elaine
Thanks very much for your comments
Payment methods in UK are:
PayPal in GBP
PayPal in USD
Bank transfer in GBP
Payoneer Prepaid Debit MasterCard in EUR
…which is a real nuisance!
I could set up a bank transfer in GBP, but when I pay owners in Euros, I’m going to be charged for the currency conversion and be susceptible to exchange rates
Would be great to know what other people in my position do
Thanks again
Rebecca
@Elaine701 Yes, in different countries airbnb offers different payouts options. I’m in the same position and I don’t know how to solve it.I hosting in Albania, my payouts are in Us dollars not EURO
