Possible Spam

Hi there! I received a message but the guest just joined this month and says Airbnb doesn’t accept his bank account. How should I proceed? It seems like spam.

Hi @Jacques1056,

I personally would respond indicating that Airbnb handles all payment and that until payment is made, the reservation cannot be confirmed.  I am not sure if this is spam or not as very limited details are shared.

@Jacques1056 That does sound a bit suspicious, especially if the guest is new and already mentioning payment issues. I agree with @Dave-and-Deb0 — it's best to remind the guest that all payments must go through Airbnb’s secure platform and that no reservation is confirmed until payment is processed by Airbnb. If anything feels off, you can also report the message to Airbnb for review. Trust your instincts — it's always better to be cautious.
