Price suddenly increased to 700$????

Honestly, this has never happened to me before. I was checking this nice cottage in Canada, It has good amenities and a great view. Seeing as I am booking for Christmas, I knew it would be a little more expensive so I was surprised when it said 1200 on my phone, which was a decent price for the place. I saved the place to my wishlist then went on my computer to book it and the place is suddenly 1900$???

I thought hosts controlled the prices, so I was shocked to see the sudden increase from one hour to the next. I understand this is normal when booking things, but I wasn't expecting it from this website. Not to mention that it jumped several hundred dollars.

@Alexandra1891 Either the host corrected the price just as you moved from phone to a computer or Airbnb's smart pricing has increased the rate. The latter feels unlikely

In all likelihood it was the host who changed the priced by $700, because smart price is primarily influenced by other surrounding prices (unlikely they all changed in one hour), specially by that much and by even number increments (it's an average), which smart price doesn't tend to follow.
