Hello all,
I've set up a custom rule-set for Christmas (err, called Christmas), which has the following rules:
I then applied this to the period Friday 20th to Jan 1st
However, when I then open the days (I have days blocked by default) it says "can't open 25th, 26th and 1st because check in is blocked on those Tuesdays and Wednesdays".
This is surely a bug. I want someone to be able to book for four or more nights, say from 22nd to 25th for example. There is no reason why they shouldn't be able to book the 25th as part of their stay, just because they can't check in on that night!
Anyone had similar or thoughts?
Best,
Hugo.
Hi @Hugo1009
Yes these sorts of things happen to me all the time. Remove the rule and unblock all the nights, then put the rule back.
Afterwards, go to guest view and test that the dates are bookable the way you want them.
Hello @Hugo1009
I've just been onto your calendar and there are no rule sets applied to Christmas and New Year - just a 4 day minimum so anyone can check in on Xmas day and New Year's day!.
I have been able to do the same thing you want using the Professional Tools but just created a Xmas rule (no arrivals Xmas Eve ,Xmas Day and Boxing day in my case) and then another one for a New Year Rule:
In the example you give:
This is surely a bug. I want someone to be able to book for four or more nights, say from 22nd to 25th for example
It's normal that someone can't book from the 22nd to 25th December because that only makes 3 nights as you have ruled that the 25th and 26th can't be a check-in date but they should be able to stay until the next available check-in date.
If you go onto my calendar as a guest, you'll see that the 24th, 25th and 26th December are marked as being "host unavailable so no check-ins, no check-outs possible. If someone wants to arrive on the 22nd December, although I have put a 3 night minimum, they won't be able to stay just 3 days because of my rule sets and the next available date to show available will be the 27th December
Hope this makes sense
Joëlle
Hi Joelle,
It does make sense, but so does the way I want to do it that's not working. When I said 22nd to 25th I meant staying those nights, so checking out 26th. It was just an example but this should work and it shouldn't leave 25th, 26th and 1st blocked just because you can't check in on those days.
Yes I have removed the check in day restriction, precisely because it's not working! So at the moment the only additional rule for my 'Christmas' period is that there are 4 nights minimum.
It's correct that it's wrong to block 25th, 26th and 1st in the way I tried to set it up.
Best,
Hugo.
