Problem hot water

Problem hot water

Hi everyone, I recently rented out my house for seven days, and on the second day, the hot water stopped working. I did my best to fix the water heater, but it was impossible during their stay because a new one had to be purchased and wasn't available. I booked and paid for a room in a nearby hotel for anyone who needed hot water.

Temperatures are high like in summer, and there was hot water in the kitchen; the problem only affected the bathrooms.

The guest asked for financial compensation. What do you think is fair? What percentage of the rental would be reasonable?

Thank you

@Celia43 if it goes as a dispute to Airbnb the starting tariff for compensation is likely to be 30%. It could be a lot worse so perhaps settle at 30% of what they paid (not what you received) and cross your fingers.
