Requesting Additional Pet Fee after booking

I booked a place for 3 nights, 4 days. On the site, it says NO PETS in additional rules, but then on the form it says pet friendly and only one small dog is allowed. Then I messaged the lady and she said yes we can bring two pets, one being a small ESA and the other being a medium dog. We clarified that we would add 5 guests and 2 dogs and then price that came out to be was the price the host would honor. She said that upon arrival we will be charged an additional 125$ PER PET AFTER OUR STAY IS OVER. WHICH IS THAT EVEN ALLOWED WHEN OUR BOOKING, BOTH PETS ARE INCLUDED AND THE 125$ PET FEE IS ON THE RECEIPT. THIS DOESNT SEEM RIGHT THAT SHE CAN CHARGE US FOR AN ADDITIONal pet when she said in the messages that airbnb will handle the pet fees. I feel like we are being overcharged.

Hi,

Pet fees are a relatively new feature/fee structure, and many hosts are having issues correctly inputting values so guests are charged correctly for their pet stay,  this may be the case. .

Graciously ask in writing,  again, for clarity pets fee.  Is it 2 dogs for $125, $250 or $375? As it seems like it is $375, based upon your message.  Let’s hope it is a simple mistake, and  you can come to an agreement with the host.   You may also want to ask if there are restrictions, ie…are pets not allowed on the beds, furniture, etc…

If you are uncomfortable with the final amount the host confirms,  call airbnb customer service for support.
