Reservation enquiry

I live in UK and have an apartment on Airbnb in Italy.  I have had an enquiry for a week in February and have pre-approved it but the guest wants to speak to me to ask some questions.  Airbnb won't let me send or receive telephone numbers.  How do we go from here?

All communication has to be through the system until a booking is confirmed, then you'll get the guests contact details.

I've never needed to try it, but someone said typing the word works: one two three

I tried that with a guest yesterday - sent them Airbnb's phone number by writing the number out - it ended up being hidden by the algo.

There is no reason for the guest to want to call you before booking unless they a) want to negotiate the rate b) book outside of Airbnb .

I would ask the guest what areas they want to cover with you that aren't on your listing and remind them it's against Airbnb's terms to communicate outside of Airbnb

@Mary1413   I agree with @Helen3 .  Messaging through Air BNB can be cumbersome but it does give you a record of communication.  Try as Helen suggests and if the guest is not willing to do that, you might be dodging a bullet of trouble.
