Seeking Assistance on Unfair Cleaning Charge

Hello Airbnb Community,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm reaching out to share a concerning experience I recently had as a guest. I've been a loyal Airbnb user for over eight years, maintaining a clean record and always adhering to the rules.

During our recent stay in Canmore, AB, everything went smoothly, and we checked out without any issues. However, more than two weeks after the stay, and after the review period had closed, the host submitted a request for payment, alleging a stained duvet that was not caused by us. I promptly questioned the host about the claim, only to be met with being blocked without clarification.

To my dismay, Airbnb sided with the host, and I am left perplexed and frustrated about this unjust charge.

I am turning to the Airbnb community for guidance on how to appeal this decision. Does anyone have suggestions on the best way to contest such a charge? Furthermore, how can one provide evidence that a particular issue was not caused by the guest?

I appreciate any insights or advice you may have. Thank you in advance.

@Chenxi9 As you were asked to prove you didn't damage the duvet I suggest you ask Airbnb for proof you did. Time stamped before and after pictures should be acceptable proof.

I tried this way, but they said i dont have evindence to prove the item has not been stained before my leave so they will proceed it enforcely. It is insane
