Hello Airbnb community!
Newbie host here with a question on Shortcodes for scheduled messages. I can't seem to find an example of a message composed with shortcodes with actual data filled in, so I was wondering if anyone can please confirm if the shortcode for "house manual" provides a link to the document, or does it fill the email message with the text we input for the House Manual? It would be great if there was a preview feature for scheduled messages for us to confirm formatting.
And how do we get a link to the House Manual and to the Guidebook?
Thanks in advance,
Patricia
Hi @Patricia3408 ! Have you found any info regarding this yet? Perhaps this article could be useful.
I hope that helps! 🙂
Hi @Sybe ! No, I haven't found more info on this yet, but thanks for the link with the list of shortcodes. I hope the shortcode for the House Manual only provides a link because most hosts put quite a bit of text in there! Now if only there were a way to test it...
I hope Airbnb developers see this. 🙏 Two years later, it's still relevant – we need a way to link the house manual or add a bottom message button, like with the checkout instructions.
There are two ways to share the Host Guidebook in a message. One way is to use the message shortcut for the Guidebook, the other way is to manually share it using the (+) sign next to the message platter/share recommendations:
Unfortunately, when adding the House Manual shortcut, it actually inserts the entire House Manual in the message. As @Rudolf103 mentions, we have been asking for a shortcut link instead for awhile.
Preview How Messages Will Appear
Airbnb doesn't provide a preview button per se for messages. However, simply choose any message string from any guest and add a quick reply by using the (+) sign next to the message platter (just don't send it). After reviewing it, simply erase it or close out the window without sending it.
Airbnb developers, please consider this feature request:
Add clickable guidebook/checkin shortcut buttons to Scheduled Messages. Currently, this is only possible for checkout instructions, or by manually adding the guidebook through the 'Share recommendations' button (thank you @Joan2709 )
Allowing shortcut buttons for guidebooks and check-in instructions in Scheduled Messages would provide guests with a much better experience. See screenshot for reference.
Many Airbnb hosts would be thrilled with this update! 🙏
