im keen to hear what others leave as a welcome basket for their guests, I don't want to spend a lot but would like to leave something thoughtful for their stay

@Jan186  I have a cabin near a lake. I leave a s’mores kit and a small basket of snacks like peanuts, cookies and two bottles of water.

I did that initially but after hundreds of guests in the last 4 years I guess I don't do it anymore.  For one things you have to have someplace to store them and your cleaner has to either keep it up or you do.  We had bags of stuff, then we got mice.  I stopped.

I leave miniatures of local whisky or gin, local fudge, local hand-made soap and cookies. I have yet to be thanked by any guests for this.
