What does it mean for a non smoking property to be "420" friendly?
Just got this question from a guest. I understand 420 means pot. Do these people think no smoking rules somehow do not apply to them or are they just checking to make sure I am ok with them being high at my place? Neither makes sense to me (smoking is smoking and I do not care if you are high or low as long as you follow my rules).

@Inna22 I would assume they are checking to see if pot is allowed at all, but yes, they may be meaning pot smoking. There are so many ways to consume pot now- vaping and edibles, that using pot does not have to include smoking, so just reiterate no smoking of any kind of substance.
And be aware that vaping isn't smoking. It produces no smoke, just water vapor (the same as what comes put of your kettle) and smell. So you have to be clear about vaping as well.

@Inna22 According to me some vape smells worse than tobacco or weed. We put in our rules no smoking or vaping. I would ask the guest in this case, telling them that there is no smoking or vaping of anything at your property.

@Inna22 There isn't any "smoke" smell, like there is with cigarettes, but there will be the smell of whatever is being vaped, whether it's pot or some flavored kiddie substance. And I have heard that while it doesn't cover everything in stale smoke smell like cigs do, it can produce a sticky water vapor.
While some hosts have said that pot is a really hard smell to remove, others, including me, have found that it disipates fairly quickly. It could be dependent on whether there are upholstered surfaces and heavy curtains that can absorb the smell and whether the weather is such that windows can be left open, fans turned on and the place well aired out.

@Inna22I write in my rules NO SMOKING OF ANY SUBSTANCE . I learned this when I was a working musician in NYC and the rehearsal studios would put this phrase on their signs.
I also add no vaping to my house rules because I want people who do that to stay somewhere else.
