What’s a reasonable timeframe to expect to wait before my first booking?

Hi Airbnb experts! I admire and appreciate you all! I listed my new space on Monday night of this week and I expected it to start booking immediately. (Why did I expect that? Ha!) Can you share with me your experiences on how long it took to receive bookings after you published your listings? Would someone mind taking a look at my listing and give me feedback about it? Maybe I need to make some changes to my booking settings, price, or otherwise. I appreciate any help you can offer!

@Sabra9 First of all....your place is so cute! I love airstreams! As for how much time it takes, it depends on a lot of factors. When I first started airbnb I got a booking within the first week; however, when I later added and switched properties some took over a month to get a booking. I think it depends on the time of year, the cost, location, etc. You have great reviews from a previous listing so I have no doubt you will eventually see the bookings start rolling in.

Thank you Jennifer for your response. That does make me feel better. I'll stay patient and keep hoping for the best. I'm glad you think my post looks ok!

@Sabra9 Congrats on your new listing!  Don’t worry if bookings don’t come right away—it can take days or even weeks depending on season, pricing, and competition. A couple quick tips: review similar listings in your area to compare pricing/photos, make sure your new listing discount is turned on, and check your stats page to see traffic and conversion. Small tweaks can make a big difference. Hang in there—your first booking will come soon!

I had no idea there was a stats page! And I tried looking for the new listing discount and can't find it....

Where can I find those two things?

Hi @Sabra9  Welcome...

Go to Calendar

The pricing is on the right hand side of the this screen

Scroll down to discounts.

.. at least I think it is there... since we are no longer "new" I don't see it.

Definitely worthwhile to attract those first guest... they hopefully will provide you reviews that will sell you place to potential guests!

Best wishes with your journey!

Regards

Graham
