I have a ten week booking and the guest has a second guest joining him for the remainder of the stay 2 weeks after the booking starts. However when I go onto change reservation it won't let me add an additional guest for the 8 weeks it will only raise a change for the second guest for the full ten weeks which the guest will not pay understandably.
I called customer service and asked the guy what the extra fee would be and the guy didn't have a clue and then sent me a wildly over inflated figure via message a couple hours.
I ended up:
-Sending the guest the change alteration,
-Taking the cost airbnb generated for the extra guest to stay,
-Dividing this cost by 70 (ten weeks) to get a nightly figure,
-Multiplying this figure by 14 (2 weeks)
-Then refunding that amount to the guest.
This was such a waste of time and absolutely infuriating. Surely there must be a better way to do it as it happens quite often that some guests don't come for the full duration of the booking????
