Hi @Casey393 you may reach out to your guests via Airbnb's messaging platform or phone call. Politely remind them of your house rules regarding parties and ask them to cease the activity immediately. It's essential to remain calm and professional during this interaction.
If possible, gather evidence of the party, such as messages from neighbors or noise complaints, as this can be useful if you need to involve Airbnb. If the guests do not comply, contact Airbnb support for assistance. Provide them with all relevant information and documentation. Airbnb can help mediate the situation and, if necessary, assist in the removal of the guests. They can also advise you in the event that you believe there's a risk of damage to your property or if the situation escalates. Hope this helps!

Hey @Casey393,
How did you get on? Did @Alicia753's advice help you and what was the outcome for you?
If @Alicia753's answer above was helpful, it would be great if you could show a fellow host support by clicking 'Mark as Best Answer'. 😊
Hi Rebecca,
I will do that. I was ignored by the guest, who broke literally every one of my house rules. Yelling in the street at 2am, 10+cars in the driveway and down the street. They parked in my neighbors spot which is clearly stated not to park there. Smoked in the house, broke glasses. I was on the phone with several people from Airbnb who were basically no help at all. Told me to call the police if I wanted them removed. After reading lots of comments like mine, I'm seeing that's a pattern of Airbnb not helping hosts at all in this regard. I had to clean up Vomit and broken glass and ashes yesterday. Oh, and the guests weren't going to leave. I knocked and entered the house 30 mins past check out and they were all sitting around having breakfast, looking shocked that I had walked in to begin cleaning. They also brought a dog and SEVERAL more guests than I allow. They even brought air mattresses! It was a total nightmare. I finally got them out of there and left them a bad review. But I'm not holding my breath on any support from airbnb or compensation from the excessive cleaning and damages. If anybody has any advice here I'm open to anything, but seems like I'm on my own with this absolute nightmare guest.
@Casey393 Unfortunately, your summary above is absolutely correct. You are unlikely to get anything out of AirBnB, and you're more likely to get shut down if the guest goes to AirBnB out of revenge with a false accusation about cameras or something being unclean.
The advice that the other responder gave is simply bad ( their responses always seem AI-generated). I would have advised you to call the police immediately to have these people removed from your property.
Anyone doing anything like this is not going to respond to a "polite reminder about your house rules."
Moving forward, think of AirBnB as a listing platform and not much more. They don't have your back in this situation, as evidenced by the many similar posts with the same outcome: guests having parties (against AirBnB policy), hosts suffering damage, hosts suffering suspensions and delisting when they've done nothing wrong, and (the final insult) no payment for damages as guaranteed via the AirCover policy. I'm so sorry this happened to you. Good luck moving forward.
Thanks Kia. I appreciate the honestly. Never again will I host anyone without reviews. Bad on me, I guess. I will be blocking out NYE and similar holidays, or jacking up the price. The headaches, worrying, damage, cleaning, and disrupting my neighbors just isn't worth the $. Live and learn I suppose. Thankful no serious damage to the property was done.
Is there any way to collect a refundable deposit from guests, which can act as a "hold" in case of damages?
@Casey393 You may want to include verbiage in your listing that you are close, or that the next door neighbors watch the place, or some implication that you have eyes on the place. Be creative.
Remember, your prospective guests have no idea what's accurate and what isn't, but you are a lot less likely to get partiers and scammers if they believe that there are eyes next door or close by.
I'm an on-site host -I have a separate house within site of my rental, and I hardly ever have issues with guests. Small issues, but definitely not parties! It helps tremendously. I've made that very clear in my listing, and it definitely helps.
Remember, it doesn't have to be *true*, it just has to deter partiers.
@Kia272 Thank you for the advise. I will definitely do that. We lived at our rental for 4 years before this, and we love our neighbors, they DO watch the place and call / text us almost daily. I'll come up with something.
Appreciate you taking the time to help me out. THANK YOU
@Casey393 I've also seen hosts on here refer to a private rental contract that they have guests sign, outside of any AirBnB agreement. A confirmed reservation can be contingent upon a signed contract. I think it has to be mentioned in the listing and provided to the guest outside of AirBnB. Please double-check on this as it's guesswork on my part.
I've seen damage deposits mentioned in that context as well, but I'm not sure how that all works. I've never gotten my act together enough to make that happen.
Hello @Casey393
This is one of any hosts biggest nightmares and something we should have a plan in place for if the worst happens.....
Unfortunately I think sometimes hosts forget that Airbnb is simply a marketing platform and there is nothing they can do except cancel the booking in this situation, so you, as the business owner, can go over and evict the guests and their party goers. If things become violent or there is criminal activity - you can involve your local police.
Our job as the business owner in this situation is to shutdown any parties ASAP to minimise disruption and upset to your neighbours and minimise the risk of damage to your property. Instead unfortunately it appears that let them carry on partying and check out as normal the following day.
Unfortunately @Alicia753 advice is incorrect Airbnb cannot assist with the removal of guests. Nor is there much point 'politely reminding guests of your house rules' these guests always intended to party. The only way they will stop is if you kick them out.
I do hope you've left an honest review to warn your fellow hosts. If there was extra cleaning involved or damage you can raise a request to be paid for this under the host guarantee.
what vetting procedures do you have in place for your guests?...many hosts wouldn't take a one short stay booking during the festive season from new guests - as it is so often a red flag for those wanting to party.
@Helen3 you can check the article from Airbnb's help center, Tips to help prevent parties at your property. It says there what can Hosts do as an action if they have concerns with a guest throwing a party "If the guest’s check-in time is within 24 hours, you’ll need to contact us to cancel the reservation."
Another article below, where Hosts or a member of a local community can report it to Airbnb's Neighborhood Support is Airbnb help center article 3345.
This is a host where a party is already taking place so 'tips to prevent parties' aren't much use when the party is in progress are they?
@Alicia753 you say Airbnb can help remove guests that party- how do they do that ?
That's not a tip @Helen3, that is based on the Airbnb help center 'title' where you can find what I quoted above regarding the action a Host can do when a guest is throwing a party. Just FYI, Airbnb can help mediate about parties, if you have evidence of a party happening in your listing, Airbnb and their Safety team can process a cancellation of the reservation and assist the Host in evicting the guest. You may also visit the help center articles I attached above for your reference. 🙂
