Hello
Can an electric wall-mounted fireplace be considered an "indoor fireplace" and checked under amenities? airbnb doesn't say anything about fake fireplaces.
@Andrea1160 I can't see any reason why not. Just explain in your listing description what type of fireplace it is, and include it in your photo gallery. Letting guests use a real wood-burning fireplace is a good way to have your house burn down, anyway. Many hosts whose homes do have real fireplaces have blocked them off and made them nonoperational, because guests and fire are a scary proposition.
Thank you @Sarah977 you're right about a real fireplace. I don't want to have one of those.
Andrea, it's a matter of perception!
Almost all guests would consider an 'indoor fireplace' to be something that burns wood. When they turn up and find that it is simply an electric radiant heater, they would feel the amenity had been misrepresented, and it could back-fire on you.
Under amenities list it as electric heating, show photos of it and describe it as a very effective wood fireplace look alike. That way you have been accurate and would not be seen as attempting to deceive!
Cheers........Rob
