Car incident

Car incident

Has anyone had a guest hit a neighbors car and not have insurance?  We have a great relationship with that neighbor but they are trying to get us involved.

Has anyone had that be an issue?

@Dee1076

The first hard question, was it on your rental property? I am assuming no which doesn't make you legally responsible foe your neighbor's car accident with anyone.

Now, you are in the ugly spot of trying to recover your relationship with the neighbor.

The amount of damage has to be considered compared to trying ro rent next to an angry neighbor.

The other side especially because your rental of a unit had no impact, do not involve your Airbnb account at all.  No information, no messages nothing you can see .

What you could do wile they deal with the problem, offer to pick up groceries so they can void delivery fees maybe a ride to an appointment?

I understand in India   3rd Party Insurance for Vehicle's is Compulsory / Mandatary.  This should suffice in this case.

Sorry not clear from your post are you saying the guest who hit your neighbours car didn't have insurance? @Dee1076

If so did you liaise between the guest and your neighbour to get the guest to pay directly for any damages .

I’m truly sorry about this situation. How are things now?

What do you think of the suggestions shared by our hosts?

Warm regards 🌻,
