Do you put new rolls of toilet paper for each reservation?

My cleaners and I are debating when to put a new roll of toilet paper out.  My home is near Yosemite, so I prefer to leave the more than half empty rolls for guests to have for hikes, or lake activities or the long car rides to and from.  And, my opinion is that there is no problem to leave a roll that is just under one half to a healthy third remaining.

I am a retired flight attendant, and many hotels in the U.S.  Europe, the Caribbean, and Latin and South America would leave a partial roll of paper, and add a new one.

Opinions?

@Susan4269 I always leave enough new rolls for one per day for every two guests with the end folded so people know  the bathroom has been  freshly cleaned. These are what are called small luxuries and make a difference in how your guest feels about the 'cleanliness of your home. Another one is milk and beverages. Its always easier to spoil guests in these small ways with bathroom  soaps and piles of towels and fresh face flannels than to overdue things in other ways and it becomes part of the routine and 'finishing touches'... Interesting question!

We always put out fresh rolls. We don’t want to remind guests that someone has “done their business” there recently. It’s a psychological thing. I’ll take the partial rolls for my family’s use.

I’m sure you’ll get a variety of answers.

We do the same. Put a new fresh roll out for incoming guest and take the old roll to use inside our home. We limit how many we leave in the bathroom cabinets as some guest(s) seem to take whatever they didn’t use during their stay (I.e. extra rolls of toilet paper, single use pre-packaged make-up wipe removers, pre-packaged Q-tips etc…) at time of checkout.

@Susan4269  We put a brand new wrapped roll on each dispenser along with two wrapped rolls in the cupboard.  Half-used rolls go under the bathroom sink or in a decorative box on the counter for guests to take on hikes or use for makeup removal or nose tissue (we don't do tissue boxes as they always go home with the guest).

My Covid prevention habits are hard to break -- wrapped toilet paper rolls, wrapped paper towels, wrapped sink sponge, etc. are a little over the top but still very much appreciated by my guests.
