My last visitors brought a service dog. I had spoken to them before their arrival about their animal. I was told it was a medium size dog well behaved and housebroken. I told them I do not allow animals on the furniture I don't want animals that bark or shed large quantities of hair after our conversation The Dog was allowed.
On the arrival date, I was still cleaning when at 12:30 pm the door opened and they walked right in. I explained that they were early and I was still getting the apartment ready check-in time is 3:00 pm. That's when I saw the dog! it was not a medium size it was BIG!
They said they brought a cage for him that he will stay in when they went out. We did not have much time to chat, I was still in shock from them arriving 2.5 hours early with a BIG DOG!
I told 5hem they may unload their car, set up the cage, and head to the beach. Everything would be ready upon their return, they left and I finished readying the apartment
Just one other surprise their reservation was for two for 5 nights they arrived with four guests.
Everything was fine the first night. On the second day, the service animal started barking as soon as they left for the beach
and did not stop[ until they returned The same happened the next two days. The last full day they were here when they returned from the beach there was a lot of commotion often the outside screen door was open and closed I thought they might be packing up so they could get on the road early on their checkout date. But then the dog started barking The animal sounded stressed you could tell he was not happy. He was whimpering .
Sometime later the father (** came into my house looking for me. I said what's up **? He said your listing says there is a washer and dryer available. I said yes there is. He said he would like to wash towels. I said no worries I will take care of them, just leave them in a pile, that's my job. He said no , he really wanted to do the wash. So I took him to the laundry and said there you go. He thanked me and went about his business as did I. Now for the fun part (not)
Before checkout, They left early! Cool, I will have more time before my next quests.
I was taken aback when I entered the apartment The smell was horrendous not to be too graphic, it smelled like WET dog rolled in poop! There was a pile of bed linens and a pile of towels. t The towels were nasty. I carried them down to the laundry to wash them. That's when I noticed there were brown stains all over them and they stunk horribly! I hesitated to put my nose in the towels because I knew the brown stains were POOP! Many towels were used all my beach towels and many shower towels. I loaded the washer and doubled the detergent I then removed the towels from the dryer that ** washed They smelled very very bad, so I left them there to wash again. After three washes with fabric softener and a smell-good additive, I put them away in the linen closet After taking some pictures of the pooped stain smelly towels, and washcloths. All the bed linens were fine and came clean.
When I started to clean the apartment I did a quick walk around and to my horror, I discovered more nasty! in the outside second-floor screened-in porch that is part of the apartment, there were multiple Brown stains some were quite large. I took more pictures and texted ** and asked him if the stains in the carpet, towels, and washcloths were poop stains? No Reply from **.
I think what happened was that their service dog being in the gage all day Pooped and Peeed in the cage and had to sit in that filth All the noise was them scrambling to clean up the Dog and cage.
There were no goodbyes or explanations or we are Oppologies from them! Not a peep.
After washing the floors and washing the towels three times Then waxing the floors burning incense and plugging in Glad plug-ins (AIR FRESHENERS) The apartment and the Linen closet still smell Like a wet dog that rolled in POOP!
How do I proceed? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
