Safety tips

Hi everyone,

I will be hosting a guy for the first time and I, woman, will also be at home in the meantime.

Any safe tips to protect myself?

Hi @Ines-Bento0

Message the guest before arrival. Ask about the purpose of their trip, expected arrival time, and confirm they’ve read your house rules. Their communication style can often give you a sense of whether they’re a good fit.

Trust your instincts. If something feels off before check-in, contact Airbnb Support. If a guest behaves in a way that makes you feel unsafe during the stay, prioritize your safety and contact local authorities if necessary, then notify Airbnb.

Let a trusted friend or family member know when guests are checking in, especially if you’re hosting alone.

If you’re sharing your home with a guest, it’s reasonable to ask for a valid government-issued ID, especially if it’s clearly stated in your listing and house rules before they book. Transparency is important so guests know what to expect.

Thank you so much!
