Showcase Your Step-Free Listings to More Guests
Hello Everyone,
I received an email from Airbnb Operations Manager about a project to improve the current availability of step-free listings* in London. I responded to his email asking for some clarifications but it's been days and I haven't receive any response from him. Anyone here that could kindly answer or provide some insights?
1. BROKEN LIFT: In case the lift is out of order before or during the guests' stays (which is never the responsibility of a tenant), and the guest would need to take the stairs. Does this mean that the booking might get cancelled? What would be the possible arrangement for this kind of occurrence? Will it depend on the host-guest agreement to come up with a solution? Would Airbnb mediate?
2. OUTDOOR STEPS: I have several properties that are one-level and are step-free inside the flat but outdoor steps (around 5 steps to take) must be considered before entering the building, then, to the lift before reaching to the flat. Can it still be considered under a step-free property?

These are questions to ask Airbnb @Dirk8 give them a call
obviously if there are steps up to a building it can't be considered step free .

I also suggest reading through Airbnb's Help articles about adding accessibility features to your listing:

As @Helen3 states, I think you'll find that any steps outside would not qualify as "step-free".
