@Rebecca As a pedant I have to point out that you can neither see the smell of fresh coffee nor can it catch your eye.
@Mike-And-Jane0 haha 😂 you're not wrong. I think I was trying to understand the kind of 'atmosphere' or 'vibe' a host aims to create for guests when they first arrive. 😊
Haha, the first thing my guests notice is whether the place looks exactly like the photos… it's like a live game of "Spot the Difference!" 😄 I swear some guests walk in with the listing pics pulled up, ready for a side-by-side comparison!
True hey @Nandini11 , it feels great when they go"wow, it's really nice, so cosy" then you know your place is better in real life than in pictures
@Nandini11 Hopefully that's not every time for you! Have you ever had anyone point out something tiny from the photos, like a missing book/plant/cushion or something similar?
@Ngiyephi-Patience0 - that must be a wonderful feeling! 😍 Do they comment on anything in particular that they like?
Thanks to both so much for stopping by!
No it hasn’t happened till now that they pin point to anything that’s missing……but yes the first thing they say after entering is….Wow! it’s the same as shown in the photo.
Then even when i give them a house tour they say the same after every thing i show them that yes …. It’s same as shown in the photos…..☺️☺️
I have 3 homes. The driest thing guests see are stunning organismo art, an elegant, pristine kitchen, beautiful courtyard and/or beautifully designed living room area with creative guest house book. The architecture is first mentioned. As well as the original artwork.
Hello @Robbi185 👋
Sounds like your homes have a lot of character! What’s the story behind the artwork you’ve chosen for your spaces? I'vve not heard of 'organismo' art before. Would you like to share a picture?
in my space they see plants, green area outside, perfume inside before entering the room and some cleaning tools
Hi @Alessia680 👋
Green space and plants really make those first impressions doesn't it! I feel so relaxed in a natural environment. Do you have a photo you can share?
Our guests see a very inviting flight of stairs with stunning tiles and are welcomed with a bottle of wine, fresh fruit and hand towels at the top of the stairs. We love it when I round the corner at the top of the stairs with ooooohhhhs and aaaaaahhhhs saying that it is even better than the photos. Immediate feedback is great. We also switch on lights inside the studio apartment if guests are expected to arrive later.
That's so lovely @Derick271 and those stairs really have the wow factor! It looks very open and airy and the wine is a lovely touch. Is it a local South African wine? Whats the box in front of it in the picture?
Thank you for the kind comments @Rebecca. The box is a holder for two refresher towels which get dipped in a scented water. Nice for guests to wipe hands and refresh after a drive. The wine is South African and local to our town. We purchase the wine unlabeled and add our own label.
