Bad experience at Emma's "What a view", Neuilly-sur-Seine

I made reservations for 9 days, left in 3. I live in France and know Paris very well. Room on the 7th floor of a nice high class building, but the part of the building isolated, the old servants entrance, very badly maintained, but this was already in the comments. What was not in the comments is that when leaving the lift was out of service, so I did 8 floors (exit by the basement) 3 times to transfer all my things, on a staircase very narrow (lowest floor I turned on the side with my luggage) without light on 3 floors! I informed them for the problem with the elevator but did not reply. I had a small accident, but as an anesthesiologist I know that I could have had much worse as I fell! So the room (not appartement) small, kitchen ok, nice view, double bed not really a bed, but something like a double camp bed with 2 pieces of mattress united. No lavabo, use of the kitchen sink. Not very warm, winter in Paris on 7th floor, but ok. Douche and wc added. The douche did not have a very good drainage system so the water overflew and had to pay attention and also take your shower with your feet in the "dirty" water (I hate that). WC not a real installation but as I found out later, an add on system (search saniflo sanicompact) where there is electricity and water supply, but not real drainage system. When Emma made me the tour of the house she said absolutely nothing about it and when I commented that on airbnb they write 0,5 wc she said it is because it is small. There is a note (as everywhere in hotels, rooms to let etc) not to through other than toilette paper. So I did but from day 1 the system did not work well! It would overflow with water but then not drain it! I had to flush several times to finally have a draining result. I also had water overflowing which smelled bad and used small lingettes with chlorine to clean it and left one on the brush which smelled. Second day I called her and her boyfriend came, who said it does a sound not normal and asked if I had thrown a lingette in. I said I don't even through toilet paper, because I spend everytime 20min flushing! He said "hope it will last until your departure" and left. One day after I was preparing for an important appointment, the pipe exploded and I had water with **bleep** everywhere! I called, they said in 30min they wound make an intervention (impressing to find a plumber in Paris so fast!). I postponed my appointment (I could not get prepared in the **bleep**), but they insisted I should not be there during the intervention (I thought so as to clean, but they said the small dogs could stay, not me. However the dogs can make a mess walking around, so apparently it was not for cleaning reasons). I stupidly accepted, took the dogs and went to a café nearby. I received an sms one hour later that they are unpleased, I destroyed their system (!!!) and they took photos, of which apparently one staged with a (very clean) lingette very neatly placed on their draining system. However on another photo no view of this lingette, which I fould on the system when I returned home. I left immediately and in the night, I was afraid if I stayed more I would also be asked to pay for a proper bed or a fire alarm that was nowhere! Finally when leaving, as I left the keys with the outdoor badge in the room, upset and after doing 3 times 8 floors on the badly lightened staircase, when transferring my things to my car from the basement, someone passed and closed the door, but I had not finished and had my suitcase in the basement. So I called and sent an sms, but Emma responded via airbnb that it's incredible how I am forcing her to get off her bed to help! Her boyfriend more polite proposed to come but someone passed by chance and opened. Typical french bourgeois, polite when all goes well, arrogant and rude when something bad happens. In any case my vacation and professional visit was ruined an left at midnight for home. It is her who sells a service, not me! And the only interest was to accuse me of ruining her drainage system by throwing a lingette which I don't accept and they have no proof, only a staged picture in my absence. I have however photos of the whole appartement, and videos from the dangerous staircase with no light. She should be ashamed. I proposed to airbnb to sent the videos etc. She also threatened me via airbnb not to write a bad critic, because she will speak badly of me on airbnb, like I give a **bleep**! (I gave **bleep** at her place and it returned at my feet!) I would not have written all of these if she did not have the arrogance to ask me to pay for the plumber also! Dear Emma, when you are an arrogant little person but still want to gain money and profit of the old servants' room, where the "stupid tourists" will pay just for the happiness of being in Paris, think more carefully of maintaining regularly your wc, which is not a very functional one, and guve some money for a proper bed and lights on the staircase of the poor! Thank you for a wonderful experience and for your hospitality! (It is just some of the parisian bourgeois who are like that, not professional, think they are superior to others, even their clients. The real french people are adorable!)

il y a plusieurs points dans votre post et il mérite d'être clarifié afin que vous profitiez au mieux des expériences Airbnb.
Etant nouvelle sur Airbnb (ou tout au moins sans commentaire), il semble que le concept soit nouveau pour vous.

1/ l'arrivée avec un ascenceur en panne alors que le logement est au 8ème étage.
C'est très désapointant. 
Fatiguée du voyage et avec des valises, il vous faut monter l'Himalaya, pardon les 8 étages.
Ce point gache un peu l'arrivée et vous avez eu raison de le signaler à l'hote et je pense, que tous les habitants de l'immeuble ont contacter le syndic pour faire venir un réparateur au plus vite.
Et à Paris, les réparateurs ne se déplacent pas dans l'heure (sauf les arnaqueurs).

Ceci c'est pas de la faute de l'hote. Il a certainement appuyé la demande auprès du syndic mais il ne peut rien faire d'autre.

les hotes Airbnb ne sont pas des professionels.
Ils louent une chambre chez eux ou un appartement indépendants à des inconnus.
Cela demande une grande confiance en l'autre et aux voyageurs d'être polis, respectueux et soigneux pour que tout se passe bien.

ce que vous appelez des lit des camps sont très habituels en France.
Ils sont aussi confortables que les autres lits car le sommier est le même.
C'est le matelas qui fait la différence.

Quand on loue dans une chambre de bonne, les toilettes sont en général dans le couloir et partagé avec les autres habitants des autres chambres de bonnes.
Mais certaines chambres de bonnes ont un sanibroyeur (saniflo) qui marche exactement comme des toilettes normales sauf qu'il ne faut RIEN jeter dedans sauf du papier toilettes.

Rien = nothing and means nothing. OK?

WHY DID YOU FLUSH SOMETHING ELSE BUT TOILETS PAPERS?
Is this rule so hard to understand?

5/ Les lingettes sont un désastre pour l'environnement.
Elles créées des ordures qu'ils faut détruire donc des usines = pollution.

j'attire votre attention sur ce passage :

Suggestion :

Arrêter de pourrir la planète et de casser les toilettes de pauvres gens dont la grande erreur a été d'accepter votre réservation.

6/ Donc c'est bien vous qui avez cassé leurs toilettes.
Un Sanibroyeur coute entre 450 et 750 euro + cout du plombier. A Paris, c'est 300-500 euro.
Cout des dégats :  750 à 1250 euro.
Si l'hote a ouvert une demande de retenue sur la caution via le centre de résolution, je vous invite à prendre vos responsabilités et à payer les dégats que vous avez causés.

Que vous n'ayez pas aimé l'appartement ne vous donne pas le droit de casser les toilettes.

Et les voyageurs sont responsables des dégats qu'ils causent.

si, ils ont une preuve.
Ils ont une photo de la lingette prise avec le plombier et une lingette casse IMMEDIATEMENT le système du sanobroyeur.
Donc ca ne peut être que vous.

je ne sais pas ce que ces hotes vont écrire.
Cela dépendra surement si vous acceptez de payer les dommages ou pas.
Un voyageur qui casse quelque chose (ca arrive) et répare, ce n'est pas pareil qu'un voyageur qui casse tout et refuse de prendre ses responsabilités.

Airbnb est basé sur la confiance.
L'hote et le voyageur doivent écrire des commentaires reflétant leur expérience de manière neutre et factuelle.

peut être, peut être pas.
Mais en tout cas, ca ne vous donne pas le droit de tout casser chez eux et de les insulter.
What did you expect?
You break the saniflo system and they are supposed to say thank you?

No Airbnb host, nowhere in the world would say thank you in this case. Especially if you do not take your responsabilities.

If you are not respectful of the host's place and you do not take your responsabilities when braking something, please go to a hotel.

Forget Airbnb.

Franchement, il y en a qui ne se mouchent pas du coude.

Quand je voyage via Airbnb, je ne me considère JAMAIS comme une cliente, et je remercie même les hôtes de m'accueillir pour si peu cher. De même, je ne considère jamais mes voyageurs comme des clients. C'est un état d'esprit. Un rustre tel que vous êtes ne mérite pas de bénéficier du système de airbnb : allez à l'hôtel et payez 3 fois plus cher, là vous aurez des raisons de râler.
