Blocking the calendar affecting the algorithm

Hello, we have two properties that do very well, we are superhosts so bookings have been fantastic. We have been contacted by a local company with workers staying in the area and they want to stay for 8 months, it's a fantastic business deal for us. But it would mean I'd need to block the calendar for multiple months, it would be a direct booking not through the platform. The last thing I want to do is jeopardise future bookings and visibility. Does anyone know if we would just return to being visible for the months we have availability, or would we be penalised for having a blocked off calendar?

If you block off your listing for eight months you will drop down the rankings as they prioritise listings with early availability. You will still show up but it will affect your visibility. @Nina1668

perhaps one way to not be penalized would be to make the reservation through Airbnb 😉
