I have a current guest who asked to extend their stay but before they did it someone else booked it. What do I do?

@Laurel234

The guest waited too long  to extend the reservation ("change" request).

(If you cancel new booking, you will receive penalties).

Next time immediately block the dates if quest asked to extend and open them if guest is ready to extend.

There is also a trick to prevent someboy else will book.

Hi @Laurel234 👋

It's lovely to hear that your guests are happy staying, it's such a shame that they missed the opportunity to extend. @Emiel1, @Helen3 and @Shelley159 gave you some advice of what might help next time, did you see it?

I'd love to know how you moved forward with this current guest? 😊

You can't @Laurel234 . If they wanted to extend they should have done so when it was available.

You need to honour the booking @Laurel234, they legitimately booked before the other guest extended. It's not your fault if the guest wasn't quick enough to accept the extension.

Host cancellation carries penalties and isn't worth it in this case.

Hopefully you have a cleaning fee to cover the additional costs of changing guests?

If the new booking doesn't start right after the other, perhaps you can still extend the original booking a little bit (they'll know they have to accept quickly this time!)
