Guest using fake name to book

I require a photo ID to book and I assume Airbnb is vetting the guest doing some sort of background check or at least making sure who they say they are. This week I had someone with the first name of a Disney character and the last name of a military operation (let’s call him “Simba Swat”) reserve. I did search their phone number and found his real name. He had no trips, no reviews and just joined. I reported him on the app but nothing happened. 

Are guests allowed to change their legal name on the reservation?

@Melissa280 I believe that guests can change their names once they have passed the ID checks. If true this is a major security issue with Airbnb and makes the ID verification somewhat pointless (although I guess Airbnb knows who they really are).

If you are uncomfortable then ask Airbnb to cancel free of penalties.
