How do I change a listing category?

One of my categories is incorrect. 
how do I delete or change it.

@Diana2223 thanks for posting this. I have checked our categories and 2 of the 3 apartments are in the historic home category and the 3rd isn't which is odd given that they are in the same building.

Hi beautiful people! This is what I found re categorices

 If you need to fix an incorrect category in your Airbnb listing, follow these steps:

Log in to your Airbnb account and go to the listing you want to edit.
Click on the "Edit" button on the right-hand side of the page.
Scroll down to the "Listing details" section and click on the "Category" field.
Select the correct category from the dropdown menu.
Click on the "Save" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes.

Do you mean the long list of including skiing, national parks, beachfront? 

If yes, I’m afraid you can probably forget about having those changed. 
At least in the way you would like to have them changed.

Hosts don’t get to set/choose them, they seem to be set by Airbnb, in a quite arbitrary way - AI, based on texts and photos, I think. It was said when these were introduced that you could contact Airbnb and have them look into it if you thought yours should be changed. Or update your photos and texts, and wait, and eventually your categories would ”update themselves”.  But I don’t think this has worked for most hosts.There are lots of hosts here that are frustrated with the categories, incl me. 

My own examples:

I’m in the Tiny Homes category, but not the Cabin category. 
I do agree that these should be 2 different categories; cabins should probably look more rustic, and location and facilities for traditional cabins would typically differ from more modern Tiny Homes. BUT: What frustrates me, is that many of my competitors, with listings very similar to mine, are in both categories. Which means they have an advantage over me. 

I’m on the categories Skiing and National Parks. Which is good - but my listing is even closer to several beaches and golf courses, than to the (tiny) skiing slope. Yet I’m not able to get into the Beach and Golfing categories.

I’m not sure how much it matters, though, how much guests actually use the categories.

But since you mention ”delete”, it sounds like you have the opposite  issue from most of us; you are not trying to get into a category, but out of one, that does not match your listing? Then it should definitely be possible to have Airbnb change this, to avoid misleading guests.

Since July 2022, you are able to request removal or addition to/from categories you don't think are suitable via customer support. Head over to this Help Center article for more information!

I tried to request this today with customer support. The only option they offered me was to delete my listing and try again. This isn't a viable option because I would either lose all my current bookings or I will have to block the rest of summer booking so that I can create one after my last current listing. I was put into a "Countryside" category (that I was never given the option to choose) when I should fall under "A Frame," "Cabin," and "Tiny Home" based on all the information I provided in the listing.

I have had no luck with customer support, they say they will leave a message with the category team.  I have two listings in jeopardy because we rent a room in a travel trailer with our home as just an amenity.  Campers and camping is how they have me categorized and it has me on list with the city and I’m about to lose my hosting license.  Any ideas on speaking with a manager/director to get this resolved?

Hi @Chris409, Do you mean you don't want to be in categories that you have been allotted to? Also, I am sharing this with Airbnb teams, if they can look further into your issue and get in touch with you!
