I confirmed my phone number, and Airbnb is reflecting that. I uploaded a photo of my passport and a photo of myself, and it is showing that my identity verification is completed. However, at the same time it shows my identify verification is in progress right above where it says it is completed. This is blocking me from publishing my listings.
I called support but didn't get a satisfactory answer. She told me to click a Finish Up button in the app and that it will publish it, but it just takes me back to the contradictory statuses plus watching a video on YouTube that's NOT what I am supposed to see when publishing the listing.
I feel I am stuck in an endless loop and no idea what to do to get out of it. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Nicole, before assuming a glitch, check whether the two statuses are actually about the same verification, because hosts have more than one. The ID and selfie you uploaded is your profile identity verification, and that one says completed, good. But there are separate checks that use nearly identical wording: the identity step required to publish a listing, and the know-your-customer check on your payout method. If your "in progress" banner sits in the listing editor or in the Payments section rather than on your profile, it is a different verification waiting on its own process, sometimes on a different document, not a contradiction.
If both statuses really are on the same page about the same thing, then it is the classic display lag: give it 24-48h and log out and back in. Either way, avoid re-uploading documents repeatedly in the meantime, each new submission can put the file back at the end of the queue. If it still shows both after 48h, message support with one screenshot of each status side by side.
Thank you. I just added my payout method and will see what happens. Because we are just listing our flats for a high demand event a year out, I didn't think it was necessary to do it now, although I added my taxpayer info and confirmed that already. Just a comment for any Airbnb employees reading this, you might want to improve your UI/UX on this because nowhere did it say that I must enter my payout info to confirm my identity.
Hi @Nicole4444 👋
Sorry to read that you're having issues with verification. Please let us know if after adding a payout method, whether the issue persists.
