Lockbox

Hello there, I am considering installing a lockbox. I am looking for feedback and any recommendations. I thought I would be able to check in each guest personally but it’s getting getting hectic with the varied times.

If you are keen on airbnb business , i think you shall install a wifi connect keypad. I uses lockbox but found it’s actually more expensive to deal with if guest doesn’t return keys or changes lockbox codes.

Pit averagely costs $200 to open a lockbox, and airbnb cover sucks. it never pays out the due repair fees.

Hello Mark125, Thanks so much for your suggestion. I will definitely look into the wifi connect keypad.

I would recommend a coded door lock deadbolt. Inexpensive and easy to install.  I program the last 4 digits of the guests cell phone as their code even though I show each one in myself as I prefer to meet them when the arrive.  The code allows them to come and go as they please and they know the code is specific to them only. Most locks have that you can have multiple codes programmed as well. - ie: for cleaners or next guest etc.  No chance of lost keys. Works perfectly for us.

I also recommend a wifi lock instead of a lockbox, because it mitigates the loss or copying of keys.  We change the batteries about every four to six months, depending upon usage.

Don't just believe what I say, check the Airbnb Help Center

Hi Debra, Thanks for your recommendation, I will definitely look into using a wifi lock.

I too use a coded entry where the guest enters the 4 digit code.  Make sure there is a deadbolt feature.  I purchased a Schlage locking system and it has been wonderful!

Take care, Laurie
