Hello! I am new, and I would like to know if there is a host in North Carolina that can support me with the issue of regulations in this state? I do not have my own property and I want to do it with the property of others, I would like to know what the process is for it and if I should get any permission from me? @Business8 What you are referring to is called rental arbitrage- renting a property to list on Airbnb.
State regulations concerning short term rentals have nothing to do with that- when you rent a place, you will have to sign a lease, and most leases specifically prohibit subletting. Very few home-owners will agree to allow someone to rent from them and use the place as an Airbnb.
So the first thing you would need to think about and research is whether you can even find a place that would allow such a thing.
Thank you very much Sarah for your information, so from what you tell me that is something that can hardly be done in the United States unless some owner allows their property to be sublet, it would then be to do a deep search. So normally those who make Airbnb in the USA do it with their own home, right? Very grateful for your answer
@Business8 Either in their own home or the homeowner wants to rent it on Airbnb, but doesn't want to deal with running it themselves, so looks for a property manager or what is known as a co-host, to manage it for them. So there are plenty of properties where the host is actually just the one managing the property, not the homeowner.
But that is different from simply renting a house in order to use it as an Airbnb.
If you wanted to be a co-host or property manager, you would advertise your services locally, but in order for a homeowner to hire you for that, they would want to see that you had some experience in such things.
