Hi, I am a new host taking over for an existing Airbnb that I bought 6 months ago. When I first went live I got a handful of inquiries and a few bookings, but it's been quiet since. I don't know if I have the promotions set up right or what. Any advice on getting the bookings rolling?
Hello @Lynn2051 ,
In your profile, there are two listings: the old one from the previous owner, which has over 100 reviews in 2 years, and your new listing. Clearly, the previous listing worked well.
Why not start by replicating what worked? Copy the details from the old listing into yours, including the description and photo arrangement. For example, why are the first and second pictures in your listing the same? Try arranging the photos in the same order as the previous owner.
Additionally, I noticed that the old listing mentions 7 beds, while yours lists only 3. Make sure you align with what the previous owner had, so you’re starting from the same strong foundation.
I didn’t check the pricing, but if you follow the previous owner’s strategy for both low and high seasons, it should work fine.
One more thing to consider: When people see your listing, it’s after they’ve done a search. A more appealing title that evokes feelings and emotions might stand out more than a technical or descriptive one. For example, something like “A Home in the Woods” could create a stronger connection. Just some food for thought.
@Guy991 , thank you so much for the feedback. I didn't even realize I had duplicated a picture and didn't have the beds right. I have already worked on that and will work on the picture arrangement. I love the title recommendation as well. I was told you should list amenities/highlights in the title to attract guests. We bought this Airbnb with the intention of keeping the property manager, but her life circumstances changed, and she had to quit. I'm trying to take it over as the owner... so we'll see.
I see you're from Portugal. My son is headed there next month with his girlfriend and he's very excited to explore your beautiful country!! Thank you again for your help, I truly appreciate it!!
Stunning! I think it’s perfect! Maybe it’s just a slow time of the year things will open up in the Spring and Summer! You’ve done well! I just bought a new home that I’m trying to keep like a spa most of my belongings are in totes in the garage! I want people to feel like this is their home! I’m about 20 minutes from Boise is a country town that’s growing exponentially! Keep up the the good work!
@Francine332 Thanks Francine! I appreciate the positive feedback. It's a lot to sort through in the beginning!! I'd love to see your listing. Thanks again!

Hi Lynn, very detailed info on your listing, Love it! How far away are the closest shops to the house in case one needs to stock up on groceries? Might want to mention that as well.
Great advice, thank you!!
Hi @Lynn2051!
Hope everything is going well. I saw you got a lot of answers in your post. Did any of the advice from the experienced members helped you to understand how the bookings work? 🙂
Have a lovely day,
Alex
Hi @Alex, yes I have loved the feedback and I've been working on tweeking my listing. I'm still not getting the bookings I had hoped for, but I'll get there. Thanks for touching base with me.
