Hello, I have been renting out my house through Airbnb for about a year, and we have a pool and lawn in our garden. We need to enter the garden every day to maintain the garden and pool. However, we sometimes find it difficult to explain this to customers. I would appreciate any advice you can give me on this matter.

Hello @Fatih176 ,
I’m not a gardener or a pool technician, but in my view, the lawn near the pool and the pool itself likely don’t require daily maintenance. What guests truly appreciate is their privacy and peace of mind. They shouldn’t feel observed or interrupted while trying to enjoy the pool.
It might be worth limiting maintenance visits to twice a week, with clearly communicated times.
If there’s a specific issue that requires daily attention, it may be time to consider a long-term solution.
For example, if the pool system has a malfunction, addressing the repair could reduce the need for frequent checks. If it’s about monitoring pH levels, installing an automatic pH system can help. If watering plants is the concern, a small irrigation setup could be a great solution.
These adjustments would not only improve the guest experience but also save you time, energy, and possibly reduce your overall costs.
Hello,
I think the best thing is to inform the guests upon arrival that you will need access to do your duty!
having an open honest conversation is best.
I don't see any complaints which is good.
Just in the additional rules section just state your daily access if they don't want then rent elsewhere.
Hi @Fatih176 ,
Best case is to make sure it is mentioned in your listing under "other things to note" and in the 'house rules section'. I would also add a caption to any photos of the lawn or pool saying pool and lawn is maintained by our staff and is accessed "whatever the access is, like daily at 9am or whatever it is"
I would also mention this in each initial message you have with guests, something like: staff will be doing pool maintenance daily at XX time.
Wishing you much success!
Just be careful no one has been bothered so obviously your respectful. If you make too big a deal disclosing something that your previous Guests don't even mention, good or bad. You might create the problem you don't have currently. Disclosing is good and yes somethings though disclosed still cause problems so reinforcement of disclosure is necessary. Not your issue. I would just put it in your listing and do what you have been doing. Guests are happy.

Just tell them you will be coming daily to maintain the garden and pool. Don't ask them, tell them.
As others have suggested, show this in several different places, and in direct messages, to ensure they are aware before they book. If they want to enjoy a lovely garden, they have to accept that daily maintence is necessary in a hot climate.
Our cottage is at the bottom of our large garden. Guests are always pleased to see and interact with us. We cut the grass and strim when the weather permits and do not ask permission first. We have never had a problem. It's part of being hospitable. Guests should not be encouraged to be ridiculously sensitive. Life and maintenance has to go on.
Dear @Fiona256 ,
Did you check his property before commenting? Please don’t compare your garden, which stretches dozens of meters from the house and offers plenty of privacy to guests, with his narrow strip of lawn next to the pool. With all due respect, look at his property and tell me if it really needs daily maintenance and what kind of privacy his guests actually have.
I wasn't comparing gardens. I was making a common-sense point. It's up to the poster to decide how he looks after his pool and garden.
Hi @Fatih176 😊,
Thank you for asking this question here!
I’m glad to see so much great advice from our hosts.
What do you think of their suggestions? What will you do to deal with the situation?
Warm regards 🌻,

@Fatih176 What an enchanting outdoor area! I can see how it would require a lot of maintenance to keep it looking so nice.
I do agree with @Guy991 that you likely don't need daily care. He brought up some good suggestions to make it a little more maintenance free.
As others have mentioned, this should be part of your listing description and maybe even an automated message that goest out to guests immeidately after booking.
