Has anyone had a difference in booking having professional photos taken for the listing ?

I'm a newbie but I'm in this community of 2,700 hosts.

And I've asked them if having professional photos really helped.

Well, the answer was YES. It may not have created a dramatic change in the conversion to reservation for some of them, but they said it certainly made a difference in terms of conversion % to the listing page.

I think it'd be worth investing on.

@Azteca1   I did not choose to have professional pictures as I want my pictures to represent the property as guests will see it during different seasons and with different bedlinens and furnishings.

I update things frequently, and it would be costly to have a photographer come in every time I change something that would be noticed by a guest.  I have had guests comment on not the same throw pillows, deck furniture and even different kitchen dish towels.

I do agree that professional pictures enhance a property, but I want to stay away from the sterile "hotel" look.

@Azteca1  Yes! absolutely pro pics are a must.  The first thing your prospective guests will see are you pics, you want them to be in the best light possible,  no pun intended.  The cost of a professional photographer will pay off immensely.

I can't speak to not having pro pics as I would never list without them.  Actually, I think I may have for my very first listing back in 2010 and when I look back on those pics I shudder lol.  But, 2010 was a time you could list a bean bag and a plywood table and get bookings.  Things are very different now.  Competition is immense so best foot forward right out of the gate is best.
