Really slow January

Hello,

I am new to air bnb but the January and February booking are literally non existent. Is this usual? Any suggestions on how to generate bookings please?

Hi @Ruth1575

London is a massively oversaturated market and January /February is traditionally low season so you will get less bookings .

How many days do you have before you reach your 90 day limit?

by the way it will put some guests off that you have no profile photo or host description. Airbnb does ask you to upload one as it instils trust .

@Ruth1575 Given the 90 day limit and the extra costs of heating in Winter I am amazed that hosts bother to list in Jan/Feb. Would you not be better aiming for a higher nightly rate which you should get between March and October. Then you can go on holiday somewhere warm in January!

Hello @Ruth1575 , Helen and Mike and Jane gave some great insights, I just want to come with some few suggestions I noticed as I took a quick look at your listing; First you did have a really great start with the 28 reviews and Supehost status for only 4 months of hosting only few can pull this out it seems like you have a primal location, you took great advantage of the Airbnb boost it gives to new listings and now the boost probably fade away and search ranking and views is completely up to your listing and it's optimization, I'll list below some things you could improve on that will definitely greatly improve your ranking and therefore bookings;

- Your title needs to be more specific and include key amenities and near attractions, as the two major components of search-to-listing click are the title and hero photo

- Photos: you should keep your photos all the same sizes and crisp quality and same size (landscape Recommended)

- Description: as you might know Airbnb's algorithm is the one responsible of your ranking and whether it puts you first or your competitor, so your description is key so you should more elaborate, plus guests should get all their questions answered as getting them to contact to ask adds an additional step which most won't do
